The Autumn Equinox and the Wisdom of Trees

The Autumn Equinox

We have experienced the Autumn Equinox last night. I snapped a picture of our trees near our flower garden.

The Ents of Isengard

One of my favourite images from The Two Towers, Lord of the Rings is when the trees, Ents, come to life and march on Isengard because the orcs were destroying the trees.

How Trees Practise Collective Intelligence

The photo I've featured here today shows how trees practise collective intelligence. We have 3 Ohio Buckeyes. The one furthest to the right is losing its leaves. It leafed first. The middle tree leafed second and will lose its leaves next. The 3rd tree leafed last. They practice this self-preservation method to avoid all dying if a devastating killing frost occurs in the spring.
