After a long coffee session in the morning with Harley, we had breakfast at Albert's Restaurant. We both had leftovers for Chewy. So that was my main meal for the day. I had a veggie salad at noon.

Getting back to Dad, For about 5 years now, he's been writing letters to the editor mostly about political matters. The newspaper and the community are used to his views. He has a coffee klatch group at the seniors' facility, Heritage House. They all talk about what's happening in their lives and discuss news events from around the world. Yesterday he told me he'd had a call from his sister-in-law, Shiela, that morning. Shiela became a widow last year. There was a 20 year age gap between her and Dad's brother. Dad has lost his other three siblings. Their marriage worked.

What Makes a Marriage Work

I'm very non judgmental when it comes to differences in individuals who decide to partner or marry. Both Harley and myself come from families with strong marriages. I think our marriage has worked because we were 50/50 business partners in farming. Farming was bigger than both of us. It involved the bank, plant and animal science, drought, hard time sensitive work, abundance, family, friendships, even acts of God.
