Processing 100 Cobs of Corn

Shucking and Freezing Corn at Cindy's
We've been processing garden vegetables lately. Because we lost our corn crop to the juvenile bear, we purchased 100 cobs of Taber corn from southern Alberta. We took the cobs to Cindy's farmhouse. She helped Harley & me shuck it. Cindy blanched all the cobs, she made me watch tv because I hurt my back and she wouldn't let me help her. She set aside some cobs for herself. Harley and I froze the cobs when we got home. Everyone we know on farms around here has at least one deep freeze. We have two upright deep freezes. Harley & I bagged 77 large cobs. In 7 bags. Sweet corn is a delicacy in this area.
Making Room in the Freezer
In order to fit the corn in the freezer, I had to remove chicken bones, peas, green bean. So I'm making borscht tomorrow.
Waiting on the Colour Edition
I'm waiting for Friesen's to get back to me soon. The coloured version of Your Weight Loss Companion should be out soon. My guess is that I'm in the Printing Queue.
Wrapping Up Treasured Stories
Last week I completed all my edits for Treasured Stories: Christmas Edition. I sent them off to Mark from Ingram Publishings. His team is illustrating the book. So I was quite tired, hence few blogs.
A Paper Blizzard and a Garden Meal
It's been a bit of a paper blizzard inside the house with mail. I'm going to file today, as well as make us a meal from the garden with chicken.
